SUNDAY TIMES BEST 100 COMPANIES
PSL started it's 'Best Companies to Work for' journey three years ago; this year gaining a 3 Star Accreditation (extraordinary) and 64th place on the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work for List 2012. The award was presented at a special event at the Battersea Evolution Centre hosted by Kate Silverton. We are proud at this achievement and the year on year success in improving standards.
The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For lists are compiled based on research from the largest survey of its kind. This year, over 275,000 employees were surveyed from 1165 organisations to create the lists. Jonathan Austin, founder and CEO of Best Companies, comments: "Our 100 Best Small Companies list is a great example of what can be achieved over time. Now in its 8th year, it has the highest participation rate of all our lists with 567 organisations registering this year and it remains by far the toughest one to make. Companies that secured their place on The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For lists are among the very best employers in the country and I am very proud to recognise them for that achievement."
PSL puts it's people at the heart of its Mission Statement. It was from that starting point we started the Best Companies process as we wanted to set a benchmark against which we could tangibly work to improve workplace engagement. The Accreditation scheme, developed by Best Companies, is based on a star rating system where one star is first class, two stars are outstanding, and three stars are extraordinary. In the first year of the process we were awarded 1 Star, improving to 2 Stars last year and now gaining 3 Star Status. We evaluate the data each year and this helps us to work towards offering a better workplace for our team. In 2011 we reached the Sunday Times Top 100 list for the first time at position 81. We were delighted to retain our place in 2012 and also improve our position by 17 places.
The Best Companies survey is designed to measure employee engagement and uses 70 questions to gain a comprehensive view of employee engagement across eight factors.
The Index score is designed to measure employee engagement by analysing 54 questions across the following eight factors: Leadership, Wellbeing, My Manager, My Team, My Company, Personal Growth, Giving Something Back and Fair Deal.
PSL are proud of their people and the passion and commitment they show. The award reflects a team effort and we intend to continue to work to make our workplace better.
